Mr. Isaac Douglas Rankine, independent candidate for East End in the 2017 General Elections, has commented on the Election results stating, “I would like to first and foremost thank God for giving me the opportunity to run in the 2017 General Elections to represent the people of East End. Being my first contested elections, I am very pleased with the outcome, despite me not being successful at winning the seat in East End.

A lot of hard work went into planning and campaigning over the last several months and it all has been a great learning experience for me.

I could not have done as well as I did without my family, unwavering committee members and great supporters that have and continue to encourage and inspire me. I want to thank all of the individuals who voted for me and I am humbled by the continued support even after the outcome of the elections was known.

Despite the poll results and not being elected as an MLA I will still be active in the East End community. There are still issues that need to be addressed in the community and being elected to the Legislative Assembly does not necessarily mean those issues will be addressed.

I plan to continue to partner with the private sector to get things done for East End. I have also expressed my willingness to the elected MLA to work together to better our community and its constituents. My desire is to see East End become a community of unity that brings benefit for all who live there.

I congratulate all candidates who were elected to the LA and give my best wishes to the group that forms the government.
